It starts with your commitment to sit and meditate every day during the month of February. By making a commitment, you join thousands of fellow participants from around the world who have also pledged.
The Challenge follows Sharon's New York Times bestselling book, Real Happiness. While the book is not required to participate in the challenge, we reccomend getting a copy to deepen your experience throughout the month.
Starting on 2/1 you will receive a daily email lesson from Sharon that includes a short teaching and a guided audio meditation to guide your practice for the day. Read along in "Real Happiness" to deepen your studies.
Each year different individuals share their experiences by blogging on Sharon’s website. This blog often reveals common struggles we all face in the practice, demystifing what we think is supposed to happen when we sit.
Week one of the program introduces the core skills trainings of concentration practice of working with the breath. Learn Sharon’s secret for success in any meditation technique: the art of beginning again.
Week two of the program moves more deeply into body based meditation techniques, introducing walking meditation, body scan meditation and meditations that incorporate household tasks.
Week three of the program focuses on the rich terrain of emotions and thoughts. This includes working with difficult emotions and also cultivating positive emotions for greater balance and resilience.
Week Four of the program cultivates the art of mindful connection through the practice of Lovingkindness. Building resources for challenging times, working with your inner critic, or physical pain.
